AJ in the Community

Nov4

Dear Friends,

The election is over and the people have spoken. We were successful on Tuesday thanks to the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of voters in the 43rd Senate District. I want to thank my supporters for their tireless efforts. It is simply impossible to convey in words my genuine and heartfelt appreciation for the work of our volunteers. I also want to thank the voters of the 43rd District for continuing to place your trust and confidence in me to serve you in the Illinois Senate. I will continue to fight for jobs for our working families; to support education for our children and young adults; to push for essential services for our elderly, disabled and infirm; and to work with colleagues on both of the aisle toward responsible solutions to our significant challenges in the state of Illinois. This was our message during the campaign, and the people of Will County responded with a resounding YES to these principles and priorities.

It is an honor to serve the people of the 43rd Senate District. Michelle and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your tremendous support, and for sending me back to Springfield to fight for Will County families.

Sincerely,

AJ Wilhelmi

Herald-News

….In his most significant action, Wilhelmi led a bipartisan effort to twice prevent the Stateville Correctional Center from closing, saving hundreds of jobs. Through his leadership, Wilhelmi has been able to secure funding for completion of the long-needed Weber Road interchange improvement at Interstate 55.

Wilhelmi also sponsored a bill to ensure construction of the Joliet intermodal, a $2 billion private investment projected to create 15,000 jobs….

…Wilhelmi has established a good balance in working with business, labor and with officials of both parties to give the people of his district the right impetus for job growth and sustained economic development.

He is strongly endorsed.

. . .Spending time with state Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi, I’m convinced he understands what it will take to put people back to work. When A.J. is working here or in Springfield, he has one thing on his mind, the people he represents. Wilhelmi is determined to bring jobs back to Will County. . .

Letter from AFT Local 604 President to Members

Dear AFT Local 604 Member:

This letter is to serve as an endorsement, an announcement and a plea.

After extensive scrutiny and comparisons of the candidates running for the Illinois Senate in the 43rd district, there is an obvious "good candidate" for public education and an obvious "bad candidate" for public education.

Senator AJ Wilhelmi, the incumbent, is an obvious choice over his opponent on literally all the issues that are near and dear to us. His record on public education is spotless. His opponent, sponsored by the Tea Party and bankrolled by the same, is proposing to gut public education as we know it.

Simply stated, this candidate is wrong on every single issue that we use to determine endorsements.

We cannot let Senator Wilhelmi become victimized by the anti-incumbent fever being spread by those advocating an ultra conservative agenda. Those people would eliminate public education that is our livelihood.

Please spread the word that AJ Wilhelmi must be retained.

Remember, in spite of what some tea party members would like you to believe, their agenda is extremely detrimental to public education, your pension, and to public education workers.

We have an opportunity to retain perhaps the best senator in the entire Senate. Let's not lose him. Work for and be committed to the re-election of Senator AJ Wilhelmi.

Sincerely,

Richard Manley, President, AFT Local 604

While some are focused on demonizing those that don’t agree with them, state Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi knows that it’s going to take much more than rhetoric to solve our problems. He has a record of improving our community both from within and as state senator. If you want divisiveness, vote for someone else. Vote for Wilhelmi. He has our interests in mind. ~The Rev. Genevieve Brown
